Nobody said that the construction of a house was simple, we see it daily in TV reform programs and although then we always stay with the marvelous of the final result, the reality is that the process always has complications ... A good example of Epater Design Studio, in Valle de Bravo (Mexico), which after some unsuccessful attempt, reached the result that we can see in the photos of this article.

Once Arquitectura, in charge of the work, began the thorough study of the rugged and wooded land with large oaks, pines, and arbors looking for the spaces where the house could be found without having to remove any trees and favor views and cross-ventilation. Thoroughly studying the land, they clearly saw the best location for the house ...

They then redefined the architectural program thoroughly and began generating a set of volumes combining open and closed spaces (indoors and outdoors) to generate different experiences and obtain a layout that was functional and interesting.

They sought to generate comfortable and dual open spaces. One based on extroversion and the other on introversion.

The first being a large terrace with pool and jacuzzi and living space facing west overlooking the lake, town, and valley causing the immediate union to the outside world, as being in the center of a forum ready to sing.

The second, an interior patio with hammocks and a pair of armchairs denying the view but functioning as a regulator of heat and cold for the house; during the day there is one that is always sunny while the other shaded and vice versa in the afternoon.

The dining room is the meeting point that joins both spaces and centers and integrators of the house where you have breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The dining room connects with patio, terrace, living room, lobby, kitchen, stairs.

There is a third open space, the kitchen terrace, with the characteristic of being roofed with the tops of 3 trees rescued when crossing its large trunks and branches by the flying slab. This space is unique and very functional because it becomes an outdoor kitchen wherewith the bar you can cook or simply use it as a support to cook on the grill.

In the upper part, the bedrooms have a spectacular view of the lake and valley. They are pleasantly warm thanks to their orientation and easy to cool by having cross vents. The materials were carefully chosen to have a range between traditional and modern.

With the traditional one, clay tile, beams, and wooden board were chosen on the roofs of oyamel, volcanic stone enclosure, doors recovered from mesquite and with the modern with an industrial mud floor on terraces and patios, PVC shutters, stave of engineering, electrical and bathroom accessories, among others.
